How do I fundraise?
You can successfully fundraise in many creative and fun ways. When you register you will have a regular point of contact who will be there as support right up until your departure. Your contact is a fundraising expert and they have helped hundreds of people reach and exceed their targets. You will also receive a registration pack with a comprehensive fundraising guide full of great ideas and case studies from previous participants.
What happens if I don't reach my target?
You will, don't even go there with that thought! With the right commitment and a good fundraising plan you have plenty of time and the support you need from us to reach your fundraising goal.
What sort of things do people do to fundraise?
Restaurant evenings, sausage sizzles, trivia nights, lawn bowls, auctions, morning teas, comedy evenings, cinema nights, eBay sales, swear jar, family fun day, family dinner, chocolate boxes, dance parties, cinema ticket sales, wine auctions, fashion shows, girls night in, golf tournament, mufti day at work, donations from family and friends.
When does the fundraising target need to be reached by?
There are a number of payment milestones that need to be met, each adventure is different, please refer to the countdown document in the specific adventure for the actual dates.
How can I get the company I work for to help me?
Many larger companies have Community Foundations or Corporate Social Responsibility programs and as part of these programs they offer to dollar match funds raised by employees for charity. We recommend approaching your company and speaking to your Foundation, HR Department or even in the case of a smaller organisation, your CEO and finding out if they are able to support your fundraising efforts.
Why would people want to donate to me?
When you take on an Inspired Adventure, you are embarking on a physical challenge that requires varying levels of training and fitness. None of our trips are a “walk in the park” and training is an essential part of all of them. By supporting you, people are helping one of our charity partners. We raise an average of $50,000 per adventure and our more recent adventures are raising more than $100,000 for our charity partners so always think collectively.
In order to make it on the trip you need to raise the funds to participate -and your determination and inspiration will encourage those you approach to support you. Inspired Adventures are not holidays – they are physically challenging fundraising events that will raise vital funds for the charity.
Are donations tax-deductible?
All of the money that goes directly to the charity over $2 is tax-deductible (providing your supporters received nothing in return for their donation) and the charity will issue your donors with a receipt (this does not apply to the Australia Tibet Council).
How do donors get receipts?
When your fundraising monies are paid to the charity they will issue a tax-deductible receipt to your supporters who made a donation, providing you have provided all the relevant details.
