2012 marks the 70th Anniversary of the Kokoda Campaign, which began in July 1942. To commemorate this legendary part of Australian history, Cure Cancer Australia Foundation and Inspired Adventures would like to invite you to join us for a very special Kokoda experience.
If you have ever thought about walking The Kokoda Track then 2012 should be the year that you embark on an unforgettable journey along the famous track that is a major part in our military history. This unique trek will begin with a special celebration at Kokoda to commemorate Fuzzy Wuzzy Day (3 Nov), and there will be an opportunity to spend the whole day in Kokoda honouring the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels who provided invaluable assistance to Australia during the campaign. You will then embark on your trek through the Owen Stanley Ranges learning about the history of sacred battle sites and gaining rare insights into the culture of the people living in villages along the track.
Kokoda for a Cure will provide both a mental and physical challenge for anyone looking for adventure. Better still, your footsteps will help fund innovative young researchers in their quest to find a cure for cancer.
