WIRES together
with Inspired Adventures are giving twenty people the opportunity
to travel to Borneo for a 5-day jungle trek, taking you through
diverse ecosystems into one of the few remaining and threatened
wild orang-utan territories in the world.
Borneo is the third
largest island in the world, dominated by luxuriant rainforests
and primeval wilderness. Its virgin forests are acknowledged
as the most bio-diverse habitats on Earth and home to the orang
(man) utan (jungle), Asia’s only great
ape.
Local Iban guides will lead us through hilly terrain under
the canopy of a dense tropical forest woven with numerous mountain
streams. Where you will have a rare opportunity to see these
amazing primates (though this can never be 100% guaranteed).
Basic spotting skills and counting of orang-utan nests will also
be taught.
Taking part in this fundraising adventure is simple.
To secure your place you will need to pay a small registration
fee – places
are limited so it is important to get in early. Next, you are
required to undertake the challenge of raising a minimum amount
of money. The money serves two purposes – it will cover
the cost of the trip and the remainder of the funds raised will
go to WIRES so they can continue the great work that they do.
